INTERNATIONAL COLOR QUALITY CLUB (ICQC)
The International Color Quality Club (ICQC) contest, organized by the World Printers Forum (WPF), for Newspapers and magazines publications printed printed variety of substrate type, aiming to enhance print quality as per international ISO standards, fostering healthy competition among quality-conscious professionals. The contest evaluates a print test element (WAN-IFRA “Cuboid” – Test patch) and visual Print Quality (GPQ) defects, judged by newspaper experts.
Successful contestants will gain 1 star for the title and stars will be added for every successful contest repeated through years, which helps publication to enter into special club lists such as Star Club (5 Stars) and Millennium Club (10 stars (10 Stars), that award them at the World Printers Summit . The different participation categories are,
- Category 1 Cold set offset on newsprint.
- Category 2 Heat-set offset or UV-curing offset on newsprint (Semi-commercial)
- Category 3 Heat-set offset or UV-curing offset on SC or LWC paper (Semi-commercial)
- Category 4 Printing under own standard or non-standard conditions (Ex: printed on tinted paper)
- Category 5 Magazines printed weekly or monthly in sheet-fed , heat-set , gravure or digital inkjet technology
